Long time no talk.
I've been quite busy with other projects lately, but in the meantime loudtwitter quietly and largely past the 1000 user count. In fact, as of today there are 1300 registered users. YAY!
I didn't expect that much interest - especially from LJ community when I started this little project for a friend, but I'm glad loudtwitter makes your life easier. I have to apologize for being slow on adding features despite many requests. There are two reasons for that: I'm very busy with my $dayjob and I don't use Loudtwitter myself. So it's hard to make the decision to add a feature or not: is it really useful? Is it worth my time?
Anyway, I've just added the ability to add text *before* the post in addition to *after*. Among other things it will allow LJ users to use the LJ-cut feature that popefelix described to me.
And in case you missed it, loudtwitter suffered from a large spam attack two days ago, so email posting was down for a while. I hate spammers.
Congrats to you! It's a nifty app.

I love your app, but for some reason, it hasn't posted any of my tweets since 12/16. Is this a result of the evil spam attack? Just wondered, because I'd been counting on those tweets.
No rest for the weary I suppose.
Have a wonderful holiday season and thanks for a great app!

I love LoudTwitter, but could you all make an option to post tweets once a week? My LJ friends are getting pouty about having so many tweets on the Friends page.

Great little app.
Please check your email for a private message from me!

Hey, I'd love to know if we can alter the security on LoudTwitter posts. For instance, my LiveJournal posts I prefer to be "friends only" and LTwitter posts come up as open/public.
Great job otherwise, keep it up!

I triple checked the settings, and everything looks right, but nothing's being shipped.

Hey my Tweets aren't being shipped to my LJ suddenly.
I've triple checked the settings and everything seems right, but nothing is being posted.
It worked fine last month, but now, it doesn't work at all.
Any ideas?

Still not getting my Twitters shipped to my LJ.
WTF, guys???

I am having some problems that may or may not be your fault. I can't log into loudtwitter - but my tweets are still being shipped to LiveJournal.
When I signed up I didn't provide an email address instead using OpenID. Now when I try to log in to LT I get sent to LiveJournal to validate - and i do so but then am told that I am not logged into LJ even though I was when I was asked to validate. I'll be doing some playing to see if I can figure it out, but if its something on your end please let me know.

@wolf, Hi you have an insanejournal and not a LiveJournal, so I guess you should update the atom endpoint to reflect that, putting LJ's atom endpoint wouldn't work. I don't know insanejournal's settings, but I guess if you swap one name by the other it would work.
Posted by: Loudtwitter | February 15, 2008 at 12:25 AM
@DanielEfton logging in on Livejournal should redirect you to Loudtwitter, fully authorized. Still if you send me an email, I'll send you a password do validate your loudtwitter account.

Multiple times a day and hours out? Um..

I have BOTH. I want the Twitters shipped to my LiveJournal, which is the atom end point I put in, as well as the LJ name and password.
I also have a DeadJournal, a GreatestJournal, HobNobbin, IndiePublic, DeviantArt, etc, etc..
But the problem I am having is with the LIVEJOURNAL. Which is where I wanted the Twitters shipped.
It worked fine when I first got it, then I switched it to InsaneJournal, and they worked fine. When I switched it BACK, they stopped working. Even after deleting the original account and resigning up, triple checking that it is LJ info I put in there, they still are not being shipped.

I have a LiveJournal, haven't changed any settings, and now my tweets are not being shipped to LJ. The last one was for 2/12, shipped a little after midnight on 2/13. Any idea what's going on?

my tweets aren't posting. Help?
Posted by: kheft | February 20, 2008 at 04:44 PM
well my problem isn't that they aren't posting, its that they ARE. I deleted two twitters and several hours later they both showed up on my LJ loutwitter update... one of them I deleted two hours before my update time, the other I deleted about 14hrs before... is this a glitch? or will deleted twitters always show up?

I deleted my LoudTwitter account about a week ago, but it's still posting to my blog. Could you please email me on how to fix this as it's quite frustrating.
Posted by: B | March 05, 2008 at 04:11 PM
@astrogirl: Loudtwitter is fetching data from twitter, so, if it fetches the data before you deleted in Twitter it's recorded in loudtwitter
@B: Though the issue you see is probably real, I highly doubt it comes from loudtwitter, unfortunately I can't tell since you haven't send me any information to debug it (a twitter name, blog uri and authentication method would be nice)
Thanks

Hi,
I signed up for LoudTwitter for my livejournal (user name: sevenlies) yesterday. When I set things up, I told LoudTwitter to post to my journal at midnight Central Time (America/Chicago) every night via Atom API.
When I checked my blog this morning, I see no Twitter post from last night. I have a message on LoudTwitter that says "Your next tweets are scheduled to be shipped to your blog anytime soon... contact us if something looks wrong."
Why is LoudTwitter not sending my tweets? Is there a setting I missed filling out when I signed up?
Thanks!

I think this is a great service!
I am not able to login to change my loudtwitter settings. I've tried every email/password combination I can think of.. Any idea when the password retrieval (and/or reset) functionality will be available?
Posted by: Jessi | March 21, 2008 at 07:25 AM
I set up to send at 1:15 and nothing. I selected to send at 1:40 to my Livejournal and nothing...
not sure if it just a fluke or if I have a setting wrong.

Hi christine,
It looks like you eventually got it working, cool!

Hi, thanks for the reply loudtwitter. Can I ask a question, I have my loudtwitter set to post twitters to my journal at 12am my time (GMT +10) so in theory it only posts twitters for just the one date. But I notice that if I post a twitter at 11pm my time then it doesn't show up in my loudtwitter post an hour later on my journal. It shows up in the next days one instead. Just wondering how often the twitters are fetched? Maybe I need to change it to 1am in order to get the full days twitters...
