I've received a lot of encouragements (tweets, mails, phone calls, comments) on continuing the service...
People offered donations or help to make loudtwitter live longer, so I certainly feel obliged to do my best for all of you (Loudtwitter used to ship tweets to blog/email ~6000 times a day last I checked).
I'm still in contact with the hosting provider and trying to get the damn hard disk back, which is as I said in a previous post the best solution for me to get Loudtwitter back on its feet.
Thanks for you support and patience.
It's glad to know that you're still fighting to bring back Loudtwitter. I'm glad to know that you're reading the comments. I can't wait to stop using the other web app I'm using and to use Loudtwitter again.
If you can't for some reason get Loudtwitter back, could you post a script on the blog that anyone can do? Even just saving something and downloading activeperl and simply opening command prompt. But I doubt it'd come to that.
I'll try to donate soon.

Thank you for trying to bring back Loudtwitter, and I want to donate when I get paid! I didn't realize you were doing this for free, I would gladly pay for the service.

Donated. Thank you for the site thus far.

ggod luck in getting it back up

I would gladly pay a small annual fee, especially if this enabled you to do what needs to be done. It really doesn't make any sense to be entirely out of pocket on this.

I would also gladly pay an anual fee. Great site.

I just discovered that you were down.
Just wanting you to know that in a sense your service is very crucial for me - I use all tweets in one day as a time machine to pick up ideas on both macroblogging and even in the long run to write a book and even a PhD!

Right now I am close to broke :( and struggling as a freelancer in summer vacation low-season, but I would love to donate or one way or another contribute to secure self-financing in another way.
Keep it up!
Peace,
Anders

I made a donation at PayPal, I hope it helps. I love loudtwitter and hope it isn't too much of a hardship for you to get it up and running again.

This is weird but I don't have paypal and can't get it but I would gladly pay for this service. I used it on at least three different blogs! If there is a way to send a money order please let me know!

I would also pay a yearly (or whatever) subscription for this service to be reliable and worth your time.

I hope it comes back, but if it operates at a loss, I certainly can't blame you if you decide to let it die.

yes thanks for your work and I too will be happy to send a donation

I didn't know anything about how LoudTwitter worked until it stopped working ... Hope you can get it back and will donate for your costs. Thank-you for the service so far.

Oh dear, I had not realized the service was down. It's valuable to me. If I had known it was operating at such a loss I might have donated (duh, on me!).
Have you considered using Google App Engine for this sort of service? It would not require you to do any hardware configuration yourself and could easily scale to 6000+ users. Now that it supports cron and task queues, it is probably well suited for writing the kind of service you were running. It's also free to start - you get free quota up to a certain amount, which is enough for most sites. The big downside would be you would need to rewrite the thing, but since the important infrastructure is already provided it might be easier than the first time. There would be no risk of you losing hard drives or frying motherboards.
Full disclosure: I am a core member of the App Engine team, and really liked your service ;) Either way, if you go back up I'll help with a donation.

I miss LoudTwitter, too! As a busy mom, sometimes Tweets are the only way I can document things that are happening with our family on the run. I would be happy to donate in the future - if there is a future. I look forward to LT coming back!!!

If you get this app back up (or need some funds to do so), I will donate some cash over via Paypal. I would love to actually pay an annual fee for this service. :) Something like $10 - $20 a year would be good, in my humble opinion, of course.
Best of luck!

I would gladly pay a subscription fee, or donate if the service comes back. I loved my batch tweeting, and understand that there's a fair bit that goes into it.

I didn't know this was an out of pocket project! I'll donate with my next paycheck!
I think even if it were as low as $5/year, you'd still manage to make enough to cover costs and more. (I might be jumping to assumption but it seems like you're helping out a magnitude of users) Try not to make it too expensive, okay?
